1. Commitment to Mechanical Precision

While historic documentation reflects factory specifications at the time of printing, manufacturers frequently publish Service Bulletins (SBs), superseded part notifications, and recall notices. SailingManuals is committed to publishing transparent corrections whenever superseded data is identified.

2. How Technical Errata Are Processed

1. Receipt & Logging: When an errata notice or bulletin is submitted via our Technical Contact Desk, a tracking ticket is generated within 24 hours.
2. Engineering Verification: Our Chief Marine Propulsion Engineer compares the submission against OEM service database updates and ABYC standard revisions.
3. Correction Implementation: If verified, the relevant web page and vector PDF card are updated immediately. A clear "Verified Revision" notice is appended to the document header.

3. Errata Classification Standards

• Tier 1 - Critical Safety Notice: Discrepancies involving fuel systems, high-pressure common rail injection, electrical fusing, or rigging loads receive immediate top-of-page alert banners.
• Tier 2 - Superseded Part or Specification: Updates to spark plug heat ranges, oil viscosity recommendations, or filter numbers are noted with the corresponding OEM service bulletin reference.
• Tier 3 - Typographical / Formatting: Minor clarification adjustments executed during regular scheduled maintenance cycles.
